Today was going okay until lunchtime. I resisted the urge to get a Subway and choose sushi instead. But after trying to get an appointment with the the nurse at my surgery, I was told that if I wanted to see her any time before next week I should call at 8am tomorrow. Now I know that if I do that I will spend half an hour in a phone queue so it's better to just go in person, which means getting up at 7.30 tomorrow, my day off.
Why does that lead to me eating a Ginsters pasty? Well, I realised that I'd have a hard time fitting in a shopping trip to get a birthday present which I had planned on doing tomorrow morning. This is because suddenly my to do list for tomorrow looks like this: getting to the surgery for 8am, joining Slimming World, possibly going to a nurses appointment, taking Max to the Vet, doing my weekly food shop, delivering said birthday present, coming up with something for writers group and actually going to writers group,
So the only thing for it was to go present shopping right after work (I finish at 8pm) which meant by the time I got round to tea it was about 9.30pm and I still had to wash my hair. And at that point I just needed easy food so down to the garage for a Ginsters.
Excuses, excuses... I know. I wish I could say it was worth it. All I can say was it was okay.
It's the organisation thing yet to be resolved. I do my food shop on a Tuesday, so by Monday I'm usually tired and want to eat something quick and easy.I know this. I just need to come up with a strategy to get round it. A slow cooker meal might be the way to go. Meal planning is definitely the way to go.
On the plus side, I didn't use the excuse of my last night before slimming world to buy a bottle of wine so that's a teeny bit of progress.
